I never liked writing. Mostly because I was no good at it. Back in school, I didn’t write a single essay. To get a passing grade, I would just copy my older sister’s work. I never wrote letters to anyone, and I even bought greeting cards that already had messages printed inside.
Then, on June 14, 2022, I had a tooth pulled. That very evening, I started writing my first short story, “The Noble Society.” Maybe it was a coincidence, or maybe that tooth had been holding me back. Who knows?
The story actually turned out pretty good, but of course, I left it unfinished. Then I started a second one called “Belyashi” and left that one unfinished, too. I started to worry—what if I could never finish a single story? What if I was doomed to be an un-finisher? But eventually, I did finish them. And wrote a few more, too. I read them to my friends, and they really liked them.
And that is how I became a finisher.
